Water firms are let off the hook

Water firms across England and Wales leaked more than 3.3 billion litres of water every day last year.

Yet water regulator Ofwat has ruled that 11 firms out of 21 don’t have to set leak reduction targets before 2015.

Britain is suffering from a drought at the same time as record rainfall. This is an indictment of our privatised water system.
