Afghan guns turn against occupiers

Almost one in seven Nato soldiers killed in Afghanistan are shot by the Afghan personnel they are meant to be training to “take over security” when the occupiers leave.

Poverty drives many Afghans to join the police and army despite their hatred of the Nato occupation. Some run away—but increasing numbers are turning their weapons on the occupiers.
