Bosses' pay rockets

Issue No. 2303

There has been some gnashing of teeth in the City over news that executive bonuses may fall slightly this year. But they’ll still reach a predicted total of £2.3 billion.

And bosses of top firms saw their pay rocket by an average of £400,000—that’s 1,500 times higher than the average worker’s below-inflation “pay rise”.

The average FTSE 100 chief executive now gets £3.65 million.
