Mau Mau veterans fight for justice

The British government is still trying to stop people tortured on its orders during Kenya’s Mau Mau independence war in the 1950s getting compensation.

Solicitors representing four victims told an 80-strong meeting in central London that the case will return to the High Court in July.

The government argues events happened too long ago to be tried now, despite the recent release of documents it had hidden since the 1960s.
