This play by Tom McNab tells the story of the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The backdrop was the rise of fascism in Germany. It portrays both the politics of the historic moment and the personal story of Jesse Owens, the black athlete from Alabama who won four gold medals.
It also looks at a German Jewish athlete and an Irish American who fought for a boycott of the games, in protest at the Nazi oppression of Jews.
