Protests for Coryton jobs

Issue No. 2312

Workers at the Coryton oil refinery in Essex have called demonstrations at the nearby Vopak terminal this weekend. This follows a packed public meeting on Wednesday of last week.

The site has been bought out by a consortium of firms including Vopak, Shell and Greenergy who are converting it into an oil import terminal. This would mean the loss of around 800 jobs.

Assemble Saturday 21 July and Sunday 22 July, from 10am, Vopak Terminal, Burnley Rd, RM20 3EG – and send messages of support to russ.ball1@btinternet.com
