Rail workers in the RMT union at First Great Western have voted to accept an Olympic payment offer. They had started a strike ballot.

Ballots are still ongoing at South West Trains and Greater Anglia. Results were set to be announced on Thursday of this week.

Workers in the RMT union at Thales voted by 95 percent to strike, following an offer of a 1 percent pay rise.

London Underground workers in the RMT union are being balloted for action short of a strike over the use of volunteers to make up minimum staffing levels during the Olympics.

Workers at the Department of Transport struck for three hours on Friday of last week over job cuts, office closures and privatisation. This follows a series of two and three hour strikes throughout June.
