Sunderland anti-fascists protest against the National Front

Anti-Nazis outnumbered the fascist National Front (NF) in Sunderland last Saturday as it tried to hold a demonstration in the city.

The Nazis want to whip up race hate against Muslims by campaigning against a proposed new mosque in the area.

Around 30 NF thugs gathered outside the proposed mosque site. They were protected from the counter demo by a large police presence.

The counter demonstration, called by Unite Against Fascism, numbered over 100, including anti-racist activists and local people who wanted to show their opposition to the NF.

Together we drowned out the NF’s message of hate and made clear that they will be opposed wherever they go.
