GEORGE BUSH and Tony Blair are preparing another war crime.
At the start of this week Blair was set to move British soldiers to central Iraq, allowing the US to attack the city of Fallujah.
Already Fallujah is being bombed daily by F-16 fighter jets and helicopter gunships. Hundreds of civilians have been killed.
In April of this year the resistance in Fallujah managed to defeat a major attack by the US marine corps.
Now Bush is looking for British support to crush that resistance, to boost his electoral chances and to shore up the puppet Allawi government in Iraq.
Blair and defence secretary Geoff Hoon have stretched their support to its outer limits. Large numbers of right wing Labour MPs are now saying enough is enough. No troops should be moved and no support should be given for the criminal actions of Bush and Allawi.
Action is needed throughout the labour and trade union movement in this country. The Stop the War Coalition will mobilise and step up the call for troops out.
Reginald Keys, who lost his son in Basra, said on Tuesday, “We know that this whole war was based on lies and deceit. No further troops should be deployed, the Black Watch should not be moved and the troops have to come home.”
Tony Blair has tied his entire political being to the Bush administration. He must now pay the political price for this ghoulish and deadly relationship.
