The Stop the War Coalition held a “Naming of the Dead” ceremony in Trafalgar Square last Sunday. It was to mark the 11th anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan.

Around 150 people gathered to hear speeches and the reading out of the names of Afghan civilians and British soldiers killed in the war.

Labour MP Paul Flynn told the crowd that reading out such names was impossible in the House of Commons. Flynn was recently expelled from parliament for saying the government was lying about the war.
