The CWU union is holding briefings of workplace reps across Britain this week as the start of a fresh campaign against privatisation and liberalisation.
The threat of privatisation hangs over Royal Mail. Liberalisation has already let rival firms cherry-pick the profits of bulk postings, and competition over the “final mile” of delivery has now arrived.
We need a campaign that mobilises the whole union membership. We need a mass public campaign in defence of the postal service as a public service.
