Anti-racists joined Senegalese migrants to demonstrate outside Athens town hall on Thursday of last week, over the killing of a Senegalese street vendor.

Bampaker Dia was killed by a train the week before while fleeing police.

Police have been rounding up migrants during the economic crisis. The anti-racist and anti-fascist KEERFA coalition organised a demonstration against racist attacks in the area of Bournazi in western Athens on Friday of last week.

Local Pakistani migrants joined the protest and chanted in Urdu.

Racist violence has increased in Greece since the fascist Golden Dawn party’s breakthrough in last years elections.

Anti-fascists marched on its new headquarters last Saturday.
