HUNDREDS OF Scottish nursery nurses struck for three days across East and West Dunbartonshire last week. Support for the strike was solid and it closed about 60 nurseries.
Their action forms part of a second six-week programme of rolling strikes organised by Unison union branches throughout Scotland. It builds on the momentum of Scotland-wide strikes, demonstrations and a work to rule that began in May.
One nursery nurse said, 'Unison has been overwhelmed by the support we are getting-especially from the parents who value the service we provide.'
