Tusc meeting opposes cuts

Issue No. 2341

Around 55 people came to the Hackney Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) meeting on Monday of this week in east London.

Bob Crow, leader of the RMT rail union, spoke alongside local TUSC member Nancy Taffe.

Oktay Sahbaz from the Day-Mer Turkish and Kurdish centre and Gareth Beeton of the firefighters’ FBU union also spoke.

They attacked London mayor Boris Johnson’s planned cuts to London fire stations.

Speakers also condemned the Tory cuts and attacks on migrants.

Hackney TUSC committee meets on Friday 22 February, 6.30pm, Olive Café, 18 Stoke Newington High St, N16 7PL.
