Alfie Meadows cross examined

Issue No. 2343

The retrial of student protesters Alfie Meadows and Zak King saw Alfie give evidence.

The pair face charges of violent disorder on a December 2010 demonstration. A previous trial ended with a hung jury.

In cross examination the prosecution argued that Alfie had joined an attack on police with a fence. Alfie defended his right to be on the protest and told the court that the reason people lifted up a fence was “ to protect protesters”.

The trial continues.
