‘Troops home’ march

Issue No. 1925

ANTI-WAR ACTIVISTS are gearing up for this Saturday’s “Bring the troops home” protest in Glasgow. Rose Gentle initiated the march. Her son Gordon Gentle was killed in Iraq in June.

Rose told Socialist Worker, “This protest is more important than ever. The British army sending the Black Watch regiment to the south of Baghdad is making things worse. It isn’t Blair that’s running this government, it’s Bush.

“I’ve spoken to some of the boys being sent to Iraq. They don’t want to go.

“I have been getting a lot of response to the march. I’m not giving in.”

Activists mobilising for the demonstration report a great response on the streets of Scotland.

Justice for Gordon Gentle—Bring the troops home for Christmas, demonstration, 12 noon, Saturday 30 October, Pollok shopping centre. Rally, 1pm, Lockhar Park, Linthaugh Road, Pollok.
