STRIKING SOCIAL workers in Liverpool have refused to be fobbed off by minor concessions and were sticking out for a full settlement at the start of this week.

A coachload of strikers embarrassed Liverpool’s head of social services when he spoke at a care conference in Newcastle last week.

Strikers are now touring the country raising solidarity and funds for the strike.

The Unison union is holding a national rally in support of the strikers on Saturday of next week.
