Socialist Worker

Prospect of more action

WORKERS AT the Health and Safety Executive, members of the PCS and Prospect unions, are continuing our campaign for a fair pay rise for all, with a work to rule and withdrawal of good will. This follows our successful one-day strike on 29 March.

On Tuesday of last week members in the London headquarters of the HSE staged a 'flexi protest'. This meant members turned up to the office at their normal time but waited outside until 10am, which is the latest time we can start work. At 9.50am there were more than 100 members demonstrating outside. Senior managers tried to intimidate us by saying they thought the action was illegal! (It's not.)

We plan demonstrations outside the London HQ every morning and lunchtime in the future to keep up the pressure.
