‘We’ll kill as many faggots and bastards as we can’
Nicholas Federici, US army corporal
'A 13 year old child just died in my arms’
Dr Sami al-Jumaili, Fallujah hospital
NOW THE world can see the barbaric result of George Bush’s election—the murder of a whole city.
It is not only Bush who stands waist-deep in the blood of Fallujah, bombed, blasted and besieged so ferociously that not even the Pentagon claims it is possible to “avoid civilian casualties”.
Bush was re-elected with the backing of Tony Blair, whose loyalty to the US war machine allowed the White House to claim international support.
His complicity does not stop there. The soldiers of the Black Watch are not on “policing duties”, as their families and the British public were led to believe.
At Bush’s behest, Blair has moved them to blockade the city from the south and prevent its remaining inhabitants fleeing unhindered.
The British government has made them, as one expert puts it, the anvil against which the US military can hammer Fallujah and its popular resistance—to death.
As the assault started the cry going up across Fallujah and other Iraqi cities was, “Resist, resist!”
Growing numbers in Britain, not least the families of servicemen, are demanding the troops are pulled back from Fallujah and withdrawn from Iraq altogether.
Contrast again the words of the US Marine and the Iraqi doctor on this page.
Choose sides. Stand with the people of Fallujah. Join the movement to end this occupation now.
