Socialist Worker

£64,357 and rising

Issue No. 1927

SOCIALIST WORKER readers have raised a total of £64,357. That means you’ve raised over £11,000 in the last week alone towards our moving fund.

We want to do a four-page pullout on Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs). We sent a journalist and a photographer to Salford last weekend—an area that hands out a high number of ASBOs. The cost of the supplement will be around £1,000, so we need your support.

Susan Wild, a pensioner from Barnsley, donated this week. She says, “I don’t have very much money as a pensioner, but I always give something to the appeal. The rich keep their media going—we need to make sure we keep the paper going.”

There is also a range of T-shirts available to help raise money. They cost £8, plus £1 postage and packaging.

“Socialist Worker has played an outstanding role in supporting the anti-war movement of the last three years. I hope everyone opposed to Bush and Blair’s warmongering will support this appeal to help develop the paper.”
Andrew Murray, chair Stop the War Coalition
