FIRE STATION cooks staged a lobby of a meeting of the London Fire Authority on Thursday of last week as part of their campaign to stop the scrapping of station catering.
Ninety seven cooks will lose their jobs if the attack goes ahead.
Firefighters would lose allowances and be forced to cook for themselves, taking them away from other vital duties.
The meeting voted to scrap station catering, but to ask managers to look at the possibility of allowing cooks to keep their jobs until they retire or leave the brigade.
The cooks have voted to ballot for strikes if the authority decides to cut their jobs.
