Pro-choice campaigners have stood up to anti-abortion bigots in Cardiff for three weeks in a row.
Over 120 pro-choice protesters gathered in Cardiff city centre last Saturday.
The protest was organised by local socialists alongside Cardiff Feminist Network.
The protesters were predominantly young women.
All were angry, and all were loud.
They were standing against the 40 Days for Life group that is holding a picket throughout Lent outside the only specialist abortion clinic in Wales.
Its supporters have been “praying against abortion”. The clinic manager has been forced to call the police on numerous occasions when the bigots have blocked the entrance and tried to intimidate women.
The pro-choice protests have been lively and fun, with chanting, dancing and live bands.
On the evening of International Women’s Day, around 50 pro-choice protesters marched from outside the clinic to join a 300-strong Reclaim the Night march.
Two further pro-choice protests are planned at St Mary’s Street in Cardiff.
One is on Saturday of this week from 2pm until 4pm and the next on 23 March from 4pm until the anti-abortionists leave.
