Spain protests at unemployment

Issue No. 2344

Over 60 demonstrations against austerity and for political reform took place across Spain on Sunday of last week.

The protests were called by the country’s two leading union federations and supported by over 150 other organisations.

Hundreds of thousands took part just days after unemployment hit five million.

That’s 26 percent of the population.
