Baggage handlers at GroundStar/Swissport at Stansted airport were celebrating victory this week after voting to strike over pay.
The workers voted to accept a new pay offer and called off a strike planned for Thursday of this week.
The TGWU union said the new deal represented a real and significant improvement.
A ballot among the baggage handlers led to a vote to take strike action.
Three days of action were then planned. They were all called off when the company increased its offer.
“We have got a much better deal now after a strike ballot than we had previously,” said Maureen Byrne, TGWU industrail organiser. Baggage handling remains one of the most important jobs at an airport.”
