Warrington lobby to defend anti-cuts councillor

Issue No. 2347

The Unite union called a lobby at Warrington town hall on Tuesday of this week, to defend a councillor who voted against cuts.

Unite member Kevin Bennett had been prevented from speaking at a council debate over cuts. He voted against the Labour council’s proposed cuts and as a result faces disciplinary action from the Labour Party group.

Unite has many Labour councillors, a number of whom have already been suspended from their Labour groups.
