Thatcher blocked Hillsborough justice

by Sheila Coleman, Hillsborough Justice Campaign

I personally have a policy not to speak ill of the dead. But I’m tempted to make an exception.

There will be few tears shed for Margaret Thatcher in Liverpool. That’s not just because of Hillsborough. It’s because of what the Tories did to the city generally.

This city prior to Hillsborough was on its knees.

I was at the funeral of John Glover last Friday. He lost one son at Hillsborough and another later. And he neglected his own health to fight for truth and justice—which Margaret Thatcher denied him.

My sympathies go to his family.

And the establishment that respects Margaret Thatcher so much should now release any documents that she had a hand in relating to Hillsborough.
