by Tom Woodcock
Issue No. 2349

Kiln burners at Hansons Brick near Peterborough have entered the second of six weeks of action to defend their conditions.

The dispute is over the imposition of new contracts. Managers are now trying to run the kilns during the strike.

Brick production is likely to be affected within a week or so. Solidarity visits and donations from the wider union movement are needed.

Please send messages of support to the senior steward Stan Dow at or to 41 Inhams Road, Whittlesey, Peterborough PE7 1TT. Cheques made payable to “Unite the Union 8/10/738 Branch”
