Unison calls for bailout of Mid Staffs NHS trust

Issue No. 2349

The Unison union has called on the government to step in to save Mid Staffs NHS Trust from going into administration.

The scandal-hit organisation is the first NHS foundation trust to be put into administration. Christina McAnea, Unison head of Health, said, “Putting finances first—above patient care—was a major criticism made by the Francis report into Mid Staffs.”
