Seminar to defend school history

by Andy Stone
Issue No. 2350

Some 60 teachers and students attended the first seminar of the Defend School History campaign last Saturday.

Michael Gove plans to introduce a new history curriculum in September 2014. Only 4 percent of teachers consider it an improvement.

Labour MP Tristram Hunt said that “It’s almost as if Michael Gove took it away for the weekend and wrote it himself”.

We plan more regional seminars and a national conference. Everyone was encouraged to contact MPs, and build support in their unions.
