Man dies after tasering

Issue No. 2351

A man who doused himself in petrol died of horrific burns after a police officer fired a taser at him.

Andrew Pimlott, aged 32, died on 23 April, five days after the incident outside his home in Plymouth.

Police in Britain are  increasing their use of tasers. In January Dale Burns, 27, died after being tasered four times in under a minute by police in Cumbria.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is now investigating Andrew Pimlott’s death and are looking to establish the role that tasering played.
