Some 200 people turned out to protest against the racist Scottish Defence League (SDL) in Dumfries last Saturday.
People marched through town to the local park despite torrential rain.
Dave Moxham, deputy general secretary of the Scottish TUC, spoke at a rally along with Larry Flanagan, general secretary of the EIS union.
The demo was organised by the local TUC and supported by Unite Against Fascism (UAF) Scotland. Solidarity supporters travelled from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Carlisle.
Around 50 SDL supporters turned up. Local people cheered when they finally packed up and left. Dumfries made it clear that racists and Nazis are not welcome.
