Council workers' fury at pay cut

by Huw Williams, secretary South Gloucs Unison (pc)
Issue No. 2354

Workers in the Unison, Unite and GMB unions were set to protest at South Gloucestershire council on Wednesday of this week.

Some 800 workers face a pay cut, worth 10 percent of their wages on average.

It will hit enhanced weekend pay, paid overtime, and night time allowance.

Most of those threatened are already the lowest paid.

Unison members’ meetings have shown a desire to resist.
