Yorkshire ambulance workers set to strike

Issue No. 2356

Some 500 workers in the Unite union at the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were set to strike on Friday of this week.

Bosses had refused to discuss patient safety with Unite, leading to the derecognition of the union.

Management plans £46 million budget cuts even as ambulance crews’ workload is increasing.

This week’s action follows a successful strike on 2 April.
