Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust workers vote to strike

Issue No. 2356

Workers in the Unison union at the Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospital Trust have voted by 76 percent for further strikes over wage and job cuts on a 20 percent turnout.

Talks began Friday of last week and were set to continue as Socialist Worker went to press. Before the ballot management had refused to talk to Unison.

During the ballot 57 new members joined Unison.

Some workers have already struck for nine days—including a five day strike when workers in Unison and Unite unions struck together.
