This is a very enjoyable play about five working class people who sit in a coffee shop and talk about their lives. All of them are affected by the legacy of Tony Blair and none for the better.
Maggie set up a local Stop the War group and was humiliated when her son joined the army.
Commissioned by the Cockpit Theatre each character is written by a different playwright. But all are united by their class and their dashed hopes, anger and disillusion.
It asks if the left is dead after Blair. “Fuck Tony Blair” says Maggie. “The answer is to forget him. Do it ourselves”. Not a bad starting point for radical theatre, or real life.
