Glass workers see through pay offer

Issue No. 2361

Manufacturing workers at Ardagh Glass in Yorkshire and Scotland are to be balloted for strikes against a below inflation 2 percent pay offer.

They are members of the Unite union. Some 97 percent of workers rejected the pay offer in a consultative ballot.

Ardagh employs 1,300 workers in Doncaster, Barnsley, Knottingley and Irvine. It made £65 million profit last year.
