Home Office gave cops fake IDs

The Home Office gave false passports bearing the names of dead children to police spies, a former undercover office has claimed.

Peter Francis is the second police spy to say that the Home Office was involved.

Undercover officers stole identities in order to infiltrate political and protest groups.

Police evict Brixton squat

Police and bailiffs fought their way through barricades to evict 75 people from a squat in Brixton, south London on Monday of this week.

Lambeth council claims it is evicting the squatters to build social housing. 

But half the flats will be sold off to private landlords.

Britain has the richest bankers

More than 2,400 bankers in the City of London pocketed over £870,000 in 2011 according to the European Banking Authority.

That’s more than three times as many as the rest of the bankers in the entire European Union put together.

Lords vote for equal marriage

The House of Lords passed the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill this week paving the way for equal marriage in England and Wales.

The bill is expected to become law within days and the first same sex marriages could take place next year.
