Lobbying scandal - most parliamentary passes are here to stay

Issue No. 2363

More than 80 people who work for all-party parliamentary groups (APPGs) are to lose their parliamentary passes.

The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards said the passes “should be withdrawn with effect from July 18” and added, “this category of pass should not be used in future”.

The House of Lords is considering separately the fate of around 30 passes that it has issued.

The 83 parliamentary passes are being removed after journalists used parliamentary groups and pretended to be lobbyists.

There are over 13,000 parliamentary passes in circulation.
