Teachers, parents and others are fighting new plans by Tory education secretary Michael Gove to grade children.
Gove set out the disastrous plans last week. He wants tougher targets and more testing for primary school children.
He also wants to grade all school children and put them in a league table. The move will condemn millions of children as failures from the age of five and do nothing to encourage children to learn.
The Primary Charter campaign group has launched a letter opposing the plans. Union leaders, children’s authors and education experts have signed it.
