Cleaners struck for 24 hours on East Coast trains on Friday of last week, demanding better pay and conditions. They are members of the RMT union employed by ISS.

The workers rallied at London’s St Pancras station (above) and in Newcastle alongside cleaners employed by Churchill on the Tyne and Wear Metro, who ended a two-week strike on Thursday of last week.
