Protesters rally to support Reverend Paul Nicolson

Activists rallied in support of Reverend Paul Nicolson outside Tottenham Magistrates Court in north London on Friday morning of last week.

Nicolson is refusing to pay his council tax in opposition to Haringey Council’s action against benefit claimants with council tax arrears.

This along with the benefit cap and bedroom tax could lead to the evictions of as many as 2,000 families from the borough of Haringey.

Nicolson put demands to the court about its processes while people outside chanted, “No ifs, no buts, no council tax benefit cuts!”
