Wage boost won for Gravesend council workers

Issue No. 2367

Gravesham Council, Kent, has agreed to pay a “living wage” to low paid workers, following a campaign by the Unison union.

In a deal backdated to 1 April this year, 25 cleaners, admin assistants and cafe workers will now receive £7.45 an hour instead of the minimum wage of £6.31.
