The Grange respite centre for autistic children with learning disabilities is under threat as Salford council plans to turn it into a home for children in care.
Parents in the Save the Grange campaign have collected over 1,500 signatures to keep it open.
Margaret Tunnacliffe’s two children, Lucy and Nathan, use the Grange up to 100 nights a year.
She told Socialist Worker, “The children love going there and it makes a huge difference.
“My husband and I couldn’t cope without it, we wouldn’t be still together.”
