Coach makers are ready for strikes

Issue No. 2371

Some 600 workers were set to strike at Britain’s biggest bus and coach manufacturer Alexander Dennis on Thursday and Friday of this week.

The Unite union members are demanding a better pay rise. They began an overtime ban on 6 September.

Alexander Dennis is based in Falkirk, central Scotland.

Its profits have soared by more than 50 percent—partly thanks to funding from the Scottish parliament.
