Underground train drivers' strike suspended

Issue No. 2373

A planned strike by London Underground Victoria Line drivers on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week over compulsory overtime was suspended for negotiations.

The drivers’ RMT union said London Underground bosses signed an agreement allowing the strike ballot to remain live for two weeks longer.

Workers were set to take action short of a strike from Tuesday of next week until Tuesday 5 November.

They plan to refuse to drive a fifth round trip where scheduled to do so.

Train cleaners strike

Train cleaners working for Rentokil Initial in the RMT union on East Midlands Trains struck on Friday and Saturday of last week.

They are fighting for decent pay.
