China crackdown on Tibet protest

Issue No. 2375

Chinese security forces injured at least 60 people when they opened fire on a Tibetan separatist demonstration in Dathang last week.

One report says that three people were killed.

The protest was against the treatment of activists in the area who had been arrested for refusing to fly the Chinese flag on the national day, 1 October.

Chinese troops annexed Tibet in 1950.
