Anti-Nazi

THE POLICE in Bermondsey, south London, ensured that the Nazi National Front (NF) marched last Saturday for the third time through the area. Anti-Nazis had applied for a march that day but the police banned it and escorted the Nazis through the streets instead.

Some 150 anti-Nazi protesters gathered over a four-hour period but were beaten back by the police when the Nazis arrived. Local anti-Nazis are now organising a "Don't vote Nazi" campaign in response to NF threats to stand a candidate in the election.

OVER 90 percent of students at an Oxford University emergency union meeting voted last week against Nazi supporter David Irving attending the debating society.

Weeks of protest forced the society's president to cancel the meeting. This is a massive victory, as it would have given credibility to someone who denies the Holocaust ever happened.
