OVER 50 residents and supporters of Brackenhall council estate in Huddersfield marched on the town hall last week against proposals to bulldoze the estate


UP TO 200 people marched in Nottingham city centre last Saturday to protest against the closure of three Nottingham family centres and Forest Comprehensive School.

One of the favourite chants on the noisy, angry march was "Quality protects? Ha, ha ha!"-referring to the management consultant jargon pushed out by the New Labour city council. The march was a mass of homemade and Socialist Alliance placards.

OVER 100 people demonstrated in Thornwood, Glasgow, against the proposed property development in our park. Miglia Properties, Dawn Homes, and the Hodgkins, Smith and Hirst Partnership plan to build 52 executive homes and a car park on the only community and child play space in the area.

THE NATIONAL Pensioners Convention meets for its parliament and conference in Blackpool next week.

It begins on Monday with a demonstration on the promenade at 1pm.
