ABOUT 30 people attended a meeting to protest at rent rises in UCLH hospitals trust nurses' homes on Monday. The rises will take rents to �260 a month. That is 58 percent of the income of student nurses, one of the main tenants' groups.

Soaring rents are a consequence of the PFI deal the trust has signed. It means handing homes to property developers. The meeting called for further action against the rises.
