Willerby Holiday Homes

CARAVAN WORKERS at Willerby Holiday Homes in Hull have voted massively, by four to one, for strike action. This follows two days of solid "unofficial" strike action last month which clearly stiffened their resolve to take the mangement on.

It also demonstrates that workers can reject New Labour's maintenance of the Tory anti-union laws.

The bosses at Willerby Holiday Homes want to introduce casual 12-week contracts to get around the very limited employment protection laws New Labour has introduced, as well as avoiding having to provide sickness and holiday pay schemes. In addition they refuse to recognise the UCATT union's right to facilities for shop stewards. The strike begins on Monday of next week.
